Dymocks achieves higher results
Book sales are expected to continue growing in the early months of 2022, according to book retailer Dymocks. The rise of social media platforms such as TikTok as a contributing factor to the increase.
Dymocks Australia said that the company’s sales have started to rise again following a strong performance in 2021.
The company’s strong online presence and the presence of its bricks-and-mortar stores are the factors that contribute to the company’s success.
The rise of the pandemic was also partly attributed to the increasing number of people consuming books at home. However, the power of social media also played a role in the increase.
However, during the pandemic, trading restrictions affected the operations of book retailers. This resulted in a decrease in foot traffic.
Dymocks is celebrating the opening of it’s new superstore in Adelaide. They believe that the company’s omnichannel strategy can help it achieve its goals.
The company currently has 50 stores. This is down from a peak of 80 stores during the company’s operation.
Having large flagship stores is also important for the company’s continued success. It allows customers to easily browse through the various sections of the store before they make a purchase.
The company’s online sales have increased to about 15 percent of its total sales. Before the pandemic, the online sales of the company were at about 5 percent.
The new Dymocks Regent Theatre store, which is located in Adelaide, features a massive 980 square-meter space. It has three curved wooden arches that help draw customers’ attention to the books. The company has eight company-owned stores and 42 franchised stores.
Dymocks is currently competing against other book retailers such as Booktopia and Book Depository. These companies offer a wider variety of products and services than traditional independent retailers. Book Depository often offers a Booktopia promo code to give discounts to encourage purchasing from their onine store.
